Why
would I want to MUD?
Most people MUD to get away from the normality of everyday life.
When you're a part of a MUD, you can portray whoever you want.
You can be a ruthless murderer of mass destruction on a MUD,
and be a quiet librarian whose spare time is filled with feeding
pigeons in the park. On the flip-side, you could be a totally
ignorant and beligerant taxi-cab driver in real life, and be
a quiet healer on a MUD. |

That sounds awful! It sounds like a MUD promotes violence!
The above examples are wild to say the least. While the roleplaying
on a MUD may seem savage, it can actually be beneficial. If
a person is able to portray certain aspects of their personality
on a MUD, that they cannot in real life, it builds confidence.
If only for a little while, the MUD-er is living the life the
way they want it, and not thinking about the everyday problems
they have to deal with. |

What does MUD stand for?.
Multi
User Dungeon or Multi
User Dimension. Both are accepted. |

What does Pkill mean?
Not
everyone you'll meet on a MUD wants to be your friend. Pkill
stands for Player Killing. |

I keep getting killed by players as soon as I enter the MUD,
what should I do?
Some MUD-ers spend their time Pkilling defenseless new MUD-ers.
When you're playing on a Pkill MUD, that is the chance you take.
Check the rules of the MUD you're playing on and see if the
practice of those characters is acceptable. If there are no
rules against it, then you're on your own. If there are, type
"wizlist" and ask one of the MUD administrators what
you should do. If you are not happy with that, you should probably
switch MUDs. |

I keep getting reprimanded for not "roleplaying".
What is that?
Some
MUDs are strict Role Playing muds, which means you have to act
like you're actually in the world you are playing. If the MUD
is a medievel theme, you must act accordingly..as if you were
in medieval times. |
